New release of Allocate — Safer registration and improved accessibility

This release helps students keep their allocated seats while changing groups and improves accessibility for users navigating with a keyboard or screen reader.Improvements

This release is pushed to test on the release date and to production 22nd of October.

Improvements

• Safer group changes in Registration
  • Students can no longer de-register from a group once they have been allocated or registered. They can still swap groups.
  • This helps prevent students from accidentally losing their seat when joining a waitlist and avoids unnecessary de-registration and re-allocation for activities with only one group.
  • Staff can still de-allocate students through Manage student; the existing behaviour for Allocate users is unchanged.
  • In Registration, the button for the student’s registered group has been replaced with a label. The group number is now highlighted in green in the list view, matching the calendar view and making the selected group easier to identify.

• Accessibility improvements
• Continued improvements to keyboard navigation and screen reader support in Registration, making the interfaces easier to navigate and use without a mouse.
